5 Steps to Better Email Messaging

Fynder Logo

Before joining Fynder, among other endeavours, I spent years at a big PR firm in the US and the UK. I wrote a LOT. Press releases, emails, speeches, reports, fact sheets you name it. Naturally prolific with words I managed to learn to tone it down (most of the time) and fine tuned how to get the most information into a small amount of space – and get people to read it. This is really useful at Fynder when it comes to email messaging and helping clients get the most of the feature. Are you using your email confirmations and reminders to their full advantage? We’ve pulled together a few tips – both technical and tonal – which we hope are helpful! Feel free to reach out to me anytime (meredith@fynder.io) if you’d like help crafting your email messaging!

5 WAYS TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR EMAIL MESSAGING

  1. Tone of Voice. For some clients this may be one of the first impressions they have of your business. Choose your tone of voice to reflect that! If your studio’s classes are playful and fun with a hip playlist, choose wording (and a title) that helps convey that message – perhaps some humour and sass!
  2. Placeholders. Fynder’s hashtag placeholder system is designed to allow you to make your emails as specific as possible by automatically pulling through specific information related to the specific class your client is booked into. Use them! A personal favourite is #DescriptiveClassName which allows you to remind your client exactly what class they are booked into on what date, and with which instructor!
  3. The facts. Your confirmation or reminder email is the perfect place to remind your clients of the need to knows, especially the ones they might forget! The most important will often be a reminder that if they can’t make it to cancel before the cancellation window, but others might be super relevant to YOUR business in particular i.e. “Don’t forget your water bottle” if you are a bikram yoga studio!
  4. Keep it fresh. Consider switching your emails up every few weeks to feature a promo offer, encourage clients to try a new class or highlight an upcoming workshop or course.  You’ll keep your clients interested in your content and generate more income without any additional effort.
  5. Sign Off. How you say goodbye is another easy way to convey the personality of your studio. If you are a one man band and know all your clients personally, perhaps a “Love, Kenzie x” is appropriate. If you are big business with several studios and looking to reinforce your brand every chance you get, signing off the studio name could be the ticket!
